After 19 years in Anoka County i have made the decision to make a move into Sherburne County. I have moved the shop up to Elk River MN and down sized a bit, before the move I had decided to make the new shop smaller than the giant shops I have had in the past. In the beginning there was plans to bring 1 person from Anoka with to the new location but in the end we all went our seperate ways. Now that Im here by myself Im enjoying the lack of drama and I can feel my artwork improving already from not having to deal with managing (babysitting) others. I do have room for 2 other artists if i ever decide to go down that road again but it would have to be the right person with the same motivation as me, but for now im keeping it simple for awhile.
The new build took a little longer than expected to actually open the doors, but in the end the shop turned out beautiful and very homey. Most people think it is a very welcoming shop, bright and colorful compared to the old shop, with a bit of a cabin feel to it. The walls are knotty pine and bright laminate floors and crazy colors forthe walls. I also have plans in the future of doing a little side project doing custom framing but very limited, mainly doing it for prints of my paintings i am selling, but will be willing to do it for others as well. We will see where that takes me
So meanwhile i will post some pix of the new shop for you to see just how beautiful it turned out
Hope to see you soon
